This notebook PC without an operating system provided by Microsoft or Apple was sold for 600 dollars, which was less than one fourth of the prices of standard models in those days. This product provided basic functions, such as e-mail, Internet access, word processing, and spreadsheets, at almost the same price as word processors. It was developed at Brother’s facility in Tennessee, the United States.
